Cedefindo Receives ISO 22716 Certification
In December 2013, Cedefindo received ISO-GMP 22716 certification, adding to their existing ISO 9001: 2000 and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) accreditations and further establishing the company’s reputation for creating high quality cosmetics in accordance with international standards of production. ISO 22716:2007 provides clear guidance regarding good manufacturing practices related to the production, testing, packaging, control, storage and shipment of cosmetic products.
As one of the core elements for compliance with new European Commission regulations for cosmetics, in that all cosmetic products circulating in to the European market will have to adhere to standards put forth in ISO 22716; this certification is crucial to Cedefindo’s ability to reach out to different markets and continue its cooperation with firms based in Europe, who must demonstrate that all participants in their production chain have attained ISO 22716 certification. It is expected that similar regulations will be implemented in other markets where the cosmetics industry is well developed.
Through this latest accreditation, Cedefindo distinguishes itself as a mature player in the international cosmetics manufacturing industry that is capable of adhering to strict guidelines regarding product safety. The company is now targeting other certifications that would facilitate entry into new markets and appeal to a diverse array of consumer bases. At present, the company has plans to apply for OHSAS 18001 certification as well as ISO 14000 and FDA accreditation in the near future.
