What is Paraben?

Paraben is used as a preservative in cosmetic products. Parabens help prevent the occurrence of fungi and bacteria and  maintain product quality. The most common types of parabens used in cosmetic products are methylparaben, propylparaben, and butylparaben. Many cosmetic products contain parabens such as Hair Care, Personal Care, Skin Care and Decorative Cosmetic products.

Is it harmfull?

In accordance with the provisions of BPOM the use of parabens as a preservatives in cosmetic is still allowed but only certain types of parabens with restricted concentration.
